Welcome to the website of the Third Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church.
The Third District (3D) crosses ten states from Michigan on the east to Colorado on the west. The three regions of the Third are: Michigan-Indiana, Southeast Missouri-Illinois-Wisconsin, and Kansas-Missouri.
The Episcopal leader of the Third Episcopal District is Bishop Sylvester Williams, Sr.
Bishop Henry M Williamson, Sr, the 52nd Bishop of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. Bishop Williamson succumbed after a brief illness. In his final hour, he was surrounded by his family and dedicated loved ones.

Williamson served as the 52nd bishop of the CME Church for 20 years until his retirement in 2022. He was a prominent public speaker and civil rights advocate, especially for the needs of children and youth.
A son of the Third Episcopal District, Bishop Williamson received his call to ministry in 1967 at Israel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Gary, Indiana. He pastored in numerous cities for decades and ministered in three Episcopal Districts.

Bishop Williamson served as the national president of “People United to Serve Humanity” (PUSH) from 1991-1993, working closely with Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr., during his tenure as pastor of Carter Temple CME Church in Chicago. Additionally, he was the founder and CEO of the “One Church One School Community Partnership Program,” which has partnered more than 200 churches and schools nationwide to support youth education.
