The CME Convocation

Bishop Paul A.G. Stewart, Sr.,  chairman of the Annual CME Convocation Committee and Presiding Bishop of the Third Episcopal District of the CME Church, will host the 23rd annual CME Convocation and the 14th Quadrennial Connectional Lay Institute in Saint Louis, Missouri, September 19-24, 2009.

The 2009 Convocation will meet Monday, September 21-Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel (formerly Adams Mark) in downtown Saint Louis. The Convocation will be spearheaded by Convocation Director Reverend Dr. Tyrone T. Davis, and the theme is, “The Ships that Sail Us from Good to Great.”

Additionally the Third Episcopal District will host the quadrennial meeting of the Connectional Lay Institute, sponsored by the Department of Lay Ministry, immediately preceding the Annual Convocation. The Connectional Lay Institute will meet Saturday, September 19, 2009 through Monday, September 21, 2009, under the supervision of the Chairman of the Department of Lay Ministry, Bishop Thomas L. Hoyt, Jr., and the direction of the General Secretary, Dr. Victor Taylor.

Also, as was done four years ago, the two programs will share one registration form and will encourage the registration of attendees with the option of discounted combined registration fees.

The registration form will appear in future issues of The Christian Index. The registration form can also be found on the CME Web site at: http://www.c-m-e.org/core/2009RegistrationForm.pdf
